How the examiner scores

Not an impression. The four official IELTS band descriptors, applied one by one.

Task Response Whether you answered every part of the question, and how far the argument goes
Coherence & Cohesion Paragraphing, the order your ideas arrive in, and how they are linked
Lexical Resource Range of vocabulary, and whether each word is used the way it should be
Grammatical Range Variety of sentence structure, and accuracy inside it

Speaking adds Pronunciation. If you type your answer instead of speaking it, pronunciation is not scored, and the app says so on the report.

What does it cost, and how am I charged?

How do I cancel?

Text STOP ieltsai to 21213 at any time, or cancel from the account page in the app. Charging stops immediately.

Which operators does it work on?

Currently available to Robi (018) and Airtel (016) subscribers.

Is this band the same as the real test?

It scores against the official IELTS band descriptors, so it is a dependable read on where your preparation stands. It is practice, not an official IELTS result, and it does not replace sitting the test.

Does it work offline?

No. It runs in the browser, so it needs a connection. Audio is generated on your phone rather than downloaded, so it stays light on data.

What phone do I need?

Any smartphone browser. There is nothing to install, and it runs well on inexpensive handsets.

Do I have to speak for the Speaking tasks?

No, you can type instead. Speaking aloud is what unlocks the Pronunciation band, though.
